I also own a 62 Yamaha Alto, a 61 Yamaha Tenor, and a 1935 King-Zephyr Alto (my first horn...which is featured on the cover of Outside the Box).

I also play a Pearl PF-521 open-holed flute.

On Tenor, Dukoff 7 metal with #3 Java and Plasticover reeds

Do you teach?

I have taken a few students over the years, usually, children of my friends.  Currently, I am not teaching, but would love to do so in the future.

 

Who or what are your main musical influences?

To name a few, Chick Corea, Grover Washington, Billy Joel, Mike Brecker, Bob James, Phil Woods, David Sanborn, Ray Charles.....R&B, Gospel, Country, and Blues.

 

Where are you from?

I was born in Plant City, Florida.

What’s your nationality?

On my dad’s side, my family is a combination of Dutch and Irish.  My mom’s side is French and something else (I’m not sure what).  I am frequently asked if I’m Italian, but I’m not.  I think it would be great to be Italian, though (my family is certainly big enough!)!

 

What are your past-times?

Baseball, football, travel, spending time with my family.  I’m currently trying to start a phonograph collection....so far, I have one!
